After a three-year intermission, Coachella is finally back and now has its lineup to go along with it. Setting up shop once more at Indio’s Empire Polo Grounds, the legendary music and arts festival return under the Coachella Valley sun across two weekends from April 15 – 17 and April 22 – 24. And while January 12 may be on the later side of its annual lineup reveals, Coachella’s 2022 billing has arrived and it’s predictably stacked with star-studded talent. As we’ve known dating back to October, Swedish House Mafia—now officially placed in their own poster spot at the bottom—will make their long-awaited trip back to Indio for the first time in a decade and will be joined by Coachella’s three top-line names in Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, and Kanye West. On top of hosting the Swede’s first touring appearance since 2019—where Paradise Again will expectedly be premiered in person for the first time—Coachella has upheld its sharp eye for dance music yet again—especially for a multi-genre festival—featuring the likes of Disclosure, Madeon, Lane 8, SLANDER, Louis The Child, Dancing Astronaut‘s Breakout Artist of 2021 John Summit, Dom Dolla, Tchami, Fred again…, Duck Sauce, and more. Coachella’s 2022 reveal did not prevail without a bit of last-minute scrambling—however—with Rage Against The Machine reportedly pulling out at the last second following the removal of Travis Scott in late 2021 and the previously announced news that Frank Ocean’s headlining spot would be pushed to 2023. Ticket pre-sale for Coachella’s second weekend begins this Friday at 10AM PT. View Coachella’s comeback lineup below.

It’s been a nice past handful of weeks to say the least considering the amount of times we’ve gotten to speak on something new from the Swedish House Mafia camp. After saying goodbye to 2021 with an extended “Moth To A Flame” version and celebrating New Year’s Day with Jacob Mühlrad on “One Symphony,” Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello reunited with The Weeknd to handle production duties on not one but two Dawn FM tracklist cuts, “Sacrifice” and “How Do I Make You Love Me?” And it’s not stopping there as the Swedes now share a third surprise release in a row with an “alternate world” rework of the former track. Moving in a similar route to their remaster of “Moth To A Flame,” the Swedes roped “Sacrifice” a little closer towards their detectible touch. On first listen, “Sacrifice” drew immediate alikeness to Daft Punk—specifically shining elements of “Da Funk”—with the trio drawing that ’80s-esque tone out even further with an acid-leaning, minute-long stretch of The Weeknd’s newest album single. And for those that were quick to raise the question of why Swedish House Mafia’s Paradise Again release wasn’t among the Dawn FM tracklist, “Moth To A Flame” is now officially an album member through the “Alternate World” edition along with Agents of Time’s “Take My Breath” spin as well as the “Sacrifice” remix. Disappointing? Immensely. Surprising? Not even a little. In recent days, forlorn attendees have been turned away just days before from events like Dead and Company‘s Playing In The Sand festival as well as the techno affair, Departure, and not to mention the Grammy awards being forced to cancel the in-person ceremony once again. Initially scheduled for January 12 – 18 of this year in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, BPM was forced to postpone to an undisclosed date due to country-wide restrictions upheld until January 23, announced on January 10 based on the rising spike in the Omicron variant. “In just the first 7 days of 2022, 11,999 infections were registered, practically the same figure accumulated during the final 61 days of the previous year (that is, all of November and December), when there were 12,200 positive cases,” the Costa Rican government announced. BPM organizers wrote in a public statement,
The event invited over 100 DJs and producers to join in, some of which included Diplo, DJ Tennis, Art Department, Audiofly, Stefano Noferini, and WhoMadeWho (live) to name a few. The tropical festival is allowing 2022 ticket holders to roll over their passes to 2023, receive a refund, or exchange their ticket for BPM merchandise available in Tamarindo. After a forced cancellation in 2020 due to COVID-19, followed by another stroke of bad luck with Hurricane Ida in 2021, Bonnaroo is set for a triumphant return in 2022. Gryffin will hold down Thursday night headlining duties followed by J. Cole, The Chicks, and ILLENIUM on Friday night. Tool, Flume, and 21 Savage will headline Saturday night, with closing performances by Stevie Nicks, Roddy Rich, and Machine Gun Kelly on Sunday night. Covering a variety of tastes, Bonnaroo’s 2022 lineup pairs emerging dance acts like Dancing Astronaut‘s Breakout Artist of 2021, John Summit, with the veteran talents like Ludacris and Lettuce, along with a Jack Antonoff-hosted Superjam. The event, running June 16 – 19, promises a well-rounded grip of talent for each day’s individual programming, with slated performances by Disclosure, Porter Robinson, Chris Lake, Nora En Pure, Denzel Curry, REZZ, Dombresky, Clozee, Ship Wrek, Tove Lo, Lane 8, Slowthai, SIDEPIECE, and 100 Gecs scattered across the four-day billing. Beating an aged version of himself to a bloody pulp as the thumping, erotically charged atmosphere of the club floor envelops him, The Weeknd shares another masterful glimpse into his latest creative vision, as he navigates the grey space between this life and the next. After Hours followed the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas-esque experience of a wild night out, pulling influence from films like Joker, Casino and Uncut Gems. The red-pigmented record from Abel Tesfaye ended with him broken and bleeding. Its successor, Dawn FM, picks up right where After Hours left off, with Tesfaye stuck in traffic as he made his way into the light with a soothing radio show hosted by none other than Jim Carrey. An informed listen through Dawn FM makes it clear that there’s more to be desired, bridging the gap between the last record, while clearly alluding to the next. The Weeknd confirmed on social media that fans are in the midst of a trilogy—and if After Hours and Dawn FM are any indication, the end of the trilogy is likely to be another conceptual masterpiece. The Father of Disco had teamed up with Claudio Zampolli to act as an investor in this car, which had been designed by Marcelo Gandini. Nine models of the car were created alongside the prototype currently for sale, which had been displayed at the 1989 Los Angeles and Geneva Motor Shows. In 2018, Canepa Design had done a full mechanical restoration of the vehicle. Complete with a red interior and four pop-up headlamps, the stunning design will be sure to go in only a matter of time. Just a few days prior to the four-day event’s onset, MDL Beast subtly placed Sebastian Ingrosso’s name onto its end-of-December lineup, with one appearance alongside the Axtone boss himself and a second in tandem with the one and only Salvatore Ganacci. While we were only left to scour social media for any and all videos of the former set, MDL Beast put both Ingrosso and Ganacci’s back-to-back appearance in full view during its December 17 livestream. “I have one more guest,” Ganacci teased on the microphone before introducing the “amazing, most super-talented DJ in the world from Swedish House Mafia and Axwell Λ Ingrosso.” It was a more than warm welcome for none other than Sebastian Ingrosso, who joined his fellow Swede in the heart of Saudi Arabia’s capital for nearly 40 minutes of uninterrupted dance music nostalgia. Leading off with “Let You Do”—which was recently confirmed to be a Salvatore Ganacci release that was co-produced by himself and Steve Angello—the newest Swedish tandem ran through music from MK, Boys Noize, Laidback Luke, and Axwell before closing with Prince’s iconic “Purple Rain.”Stream all of Sebastian Ingrosso and Salvatore Ganacci’s back-to-back set below. To date, the Fire + Ice v3 rollout—undertaken in celebration of the LP’s 10-year anniversary—has welcomed updates of five Fire & Ice tracklistings, “Turn It Down v3,” “Lessons In Love v3,” and “ICE v3,” “How Long v3,” and “Let Me Go.” “Llove v3” with frequent Kaskade collaborator, Lipless, adds to that tally. The Grammy-nominated producer is noteworthy for his work alongside Kaskade on a variety of original productions and remixes alike, including “My Light,” from 2019’s Arkade Destinations Iceland, “Weatherman,” from 2020’s Arkade Destinations Living Room, a 2016 take on RY X’s “Only,” and a 2017 remix of Maroon 5‘s “Cold.” Lipless also turned in an alternative version of Kaskade and Charlotte Lawrence‘s “Cold as Stone” in 2018. Together, Kaskade and Lipless convert the supercharged, Haley-assisted original into a mid-tempo, deep-house-fluent sister version of the song. Stream “Llove v3” below.
